Last week to the shock of many, the Premier of NSW has resigned. The timing of her resignation, linked to the investigation by ICAC (Independent Commission Against Corruption), has been questioned by many. At the core of this investigation is her relationship with the former MP (Member of Parliament) Daryl Maguire.
The NSW Liberal Party president Philip Ruddock, who is a former federal attorney-general, raised his concerns on Saturday over the method and timing of the watchdog’s investigation:
“In my judgment, we deal with these issues with probity, ensure there is a case to answer before you put people’s reputations on the line.”
Indeed, with the ICAC investigations, there are never any legal outcomes, but while the investigation is going on, the career of person investigated gets completely ruined.
Ms Berejiklian is being investigated in relation to her boyfriend’s actions. The subject of the enquiry is whether she has ‘allowed or encouraged the occurrence of corrupt conduct by Mr Maguire’.
Just to be clear, Mr Maguire is a grown-up individual with free will, a former MP. One would imagine that he could make his own decisions. Yet, it is the woman who could be blamed for his actions. In a hairy-chested world this makes sense.
If we look at this situation from BaZi perspective, this is a perfect example of ‘bad relationship luck’. Losing such a high-profile job at the peak of one’s career cannot be accidental. Let alone when something like this happens due to relationship. We can see how it manifests in her chart.
Gladys Berejiklian’s BaZi Chart
This chart is Weak.
The 水Water and 木Wood are favourable.
The 火Fire, 土Earth and 金Metal are unfavourable.
Born at the peak of 金Metal season (酉You), the 乙Yi DM is drained by the Spouse palace (巳Si, 火Fire). The negative Spouse palace (HO) in combination with 7K chart structure on their own, without any other pointers (which are also present), is not a positive setting for creating a family. We know that Ms Berejiklian has never got married and she has no children.
The focus of this chart is career, leadership and being visible. This is a chart of a successful politician. The Power element 金Metal is strong and abundant but let us not forget, that it is unfavourable.
In the stems, the DM is countered by 庚Geng in the year pillar.
The 乙-庚 combination transforms into 金Metal. At its core, this combination is unfair. For 乙 it is an uncomfortable union, in which only 庚’s interests are considered. The 木Wood must comply, as 金Metal will not negotiate. Such is the nature of these elements.
For 乙Yi DM, 庚Geng represents the Authority. This can be government institutions, the rules and regulations, senior Party members or bosses, as well as career in politics in general. In a lady’s chart it also represents her husband, or a long-term partner. The 乙庚Yi-Geng transformation into 金Metal translates in real life into pressure from work, lawsuit or losing support from friends and colleagues (who are also 乙).
In the branches, the Output (Si, 火Fire) counters Officer (酉You, 金Metal), indicating that she is outspoken. She is capable of challenging the Authority. She can stand her ground, trying to keep the Power element under control. This would have been positive if the Output was favourable, but it is not. Hence, opposing the Authority can lead the DM to trouble.
The countering between the negative Output and Authority can be interpreted as saying the wrong thing, getting involved with the wrong people, etc. At the Parliamentary hearing earlier this year, she admitted, that she had ‘stuffed up’ referring to her relationship with Mr Maguire.
Another aspect of this conflict between the Output and Authority, between the 火 Fire and 金Metal is that 金Metal is quite strong in this chart. It is supported by 戌Xu in the year pillar. The month branch 酉You is the one of the cardinals and is the peak of the 金Metal season. Together with 戌Xu they form the partial seasonal combination of autumn (金Metal). This means that it is far too strong for the weak Yi DM to fight with.
In a weak chart, the Resource element is crucial for the DM’s survival. For 乙Yi it is 水Water in the hour pillar branch 亥 Hai. This pillar relates to career.
亥 Hai is in direct clash with 巳Si in the Spouse palace. This clash stands for losing credibility, conflict with higher authorities which results in losing support. We may conclude that it is the negative Spouse palace which is the source of troubles for the DM.
The current luck pillar is 庚辰 Geng Chen.
Both 金Metal and 土Earth are unfavourable. The Wealth Star 辰Chen (土Earth) counters the favourable Resource (水Water). This makes the 乙DM vulnerable to the attack from 金Metal, the Authority.
In 2021 辛丑Xin Chou the 乙Yi gets exposed to 7K 辛Xin. Hence, we can see legal problems. During this time (丑Chou) her favourable resource 水Water goes into storage, while the unfavourable 7K Xin gets extra strength. The DM becomes even weak.
The annual丑Chou forms partial Earth penalty with 戌Xu in the year branch. At the same time, the Harm combination 戌Xu-酉You in her BaZi becomes active during the current month 丁酉DingYou. This is also the time when Self-Punishment 酉酉You-You starts taking its toll on the DM.
This conglomerate of negative combinations is interacting with the luck pillar 庚辰Geng Chen.
辰Chen forms two additional negative combinations: 辰Chen-丑Chou is associated with sabotage, and 戌Xu-辰Chen is about extreme stress levels leading to change of situation. In this case, losing the job of the Premier of NSW.
As we can see, the influences of the luck and annual pillars can shift the dynamics of the chart quite significantly. When so many negative combinations happen at the same time, the DM experiences problems at many different levels, resulting in negative events.
The bearer of this chart is extremely resilient. With the Star of General (酉You (Metal)) in such a prominent position (month branch), we can say that she is a natural leader. At the same time, 酉You is a Goat Blade star, which is about taking risks and being hurt. And of course, 酉 is a lover for Yi DM.
This is how a single earthly branch can be a blessing and a curse at the same time. The cardinals often are. When such a loaded star is thrown out of balance, the relationship and the successful political career can be destroyed at the same time.
