Prince Philip’s Time of Birth Verification

May 13, 2021

This article has been written on the day of HRH Prince Philip’s passing, but out of respect for the deceased, I have postponed the publication of it.

When the news of Prince Philip’s passing came about, I went online to check his DOB and was surprised to discover that his time of birth was uncertain. According to astro-data bank, Prince Philip was born either at 21.46 or at 10.00.

Not knowing which one was correct, I have decided to plot both charts and to draw my own conclusions.

Prince Philip has passed away on the 9th of April 2021 aged 99. He was the longest-serving royal consort in British history. The cause of death has not been disclosed, though the palace said that he died peacefully. The time of death has not been disclosed.

How the chart verification is done

In most cases, the chart verification is done by either reverse engineering, matching the life events to the natal chart, or by cross-referencing between the different systems, such as QMDJ or ZWDS.

Another method is based on using the date of passing on. In theory, the time of death is that point in time which disrupts the Qi flow in the chart. It is the point of transformation which shifts the ‘go on’ to ‘gone’, so to speak.

This is the chart of the day of Prince Philip’s passing. We will be using it to verify his time of birth.

Chart 1

Let us assume that the hour of birth is Yi Hai (corresponding to 21.46). This is the chart:

Jia DM which is born at the peak of the Fire season (Wu) is supported by the hour branch Hai and two heavenly stems, Jia and Yi. The type of chart is Weak.

The Wood and the Water are favourable. The Fire, Earth and Metal are unfavourable.

If this was Prince Philip’s true hour of birth, on the day of his passing, he would have had his favourable element Water supporting him. It was present in the month stem (Ren) and in the day branch (Hai).

There would have been also additional Water element formed by the partial seasonal combo (Hai-Chou). Such a strong Water would have propped the weak DM Jia, enabling it to survive.

Hence, if his hour of birth was Yi Hai, he would have had enough strength to live beyond that date.

Chart 2

Being born in Ji Si hour, makes this chart Fake Follower. Here is the chart:

In this case, Prince Philip’s favourable elements are Fire, Earth and Metal. Water and Wood are unfavourable.

His most favourable element is Fire, as it is the Fire which makes this chart flow. As we know, for the Follower charts, it is the flow itself which is important. Whenever it is disrupted, the problems occur. The strength of the element which pushes the flow forwards is what the entire structure rests upon.

For Jia DM born in Wu, the Fire element is not just the key to Qi flow, it is also the heaviest Earthly branch in this chart. If it gets impacted negatively, the entire structure collapses.

On the day of his passing, the Fire came under attack.  The Water was backed up by its own resource Metal which came in full strength: Si-You-Chou. It was formed by Si–You in Prince Philip’s BaZi, plus the current annual pillar Xin Chou.

His current luck pillar is Jia Shen. It has formed the partial Water trinity with the month branch (Chen) on the day of his passing.  Could it be, that he had died during Zi hour? We will never know.  If this was the case, Zi would have completed Shen-Zi-Chen unfavourable water trinity. It would have also created seasonal Water combo Hai-Zi-Chou. Such a strong Water would have left no chance for Fire to survive.

If we assume that Prince Philip was born in the morning, on the day of his passing Si would have also been clashed by the day branch Hai. This would have eliminated another Fire branch, bringing the flow in his chart to standstill.

Thus, we may conclude that Prince Philip was born during hour. If the type of the chart would have been different, he would not have passed away on the 9th of April 2021.
