Da Han 大寒 — Yin Resists Yang

Great Cold represents the extreme of Yin, the moment when it resists the returning force of Yang. On the surface, everything appears still, restrained, frozen. It is Yin holding its ground.

Da Han teaches us that this resistance is a necessary pause before change. What is compressed now gathers power for what follows.
