πΒ In the ancient times, the shamans knew how to set up the sacrificial fire, so that the smoke would go in a particular direction at a particular time, so that the ash would interact with the clouds in such a way, that the rain clouds were formed.
πΒ They knew what type of wood etc needs to go into the fire to form the right type of smoke. The fire and the smoke were considered to be two different elemental entities working in conjunction. Both were worshipped in the rain evoking rituals.
πWith the devastating bushfires currently raging in Australia we can see how important it is to bring the traditional knowledge back.
πNo government department can do it for us. The government tends only to respond (or not) to things which have already happened.
πWe need to think of how to prevent this ever happening again. We need to learn from the indigenous owners how to manage this land.
πWe need to respect the forces of nature and live in harmony with them and with one another.
πI cannot set up the sacrificial fire to evoke the rain, but I can think of rain. We all can.
Is it possible that the more we think of rain, the sooner it would come?
