These days there is no shortage of suggestions regarding how to improve your luck and make your wishes come true. They range from the psychologists’ recommendations to witchcraft rituals, with plenty to go in-between. Most of us are skeptical of quick fixes, at least I am, and for a good reason. Any difficult situation evolves over long time, and it is logical that navigating out of it may take time and effort.
The results of quick fixes do not last, and this is why those who win big at the casino do not become wealthy. Professional gamblers spend years polishing their skills before they start winning on regular basis.
According to Chinese metaphysics, our luck goes through cycles, big and small. It depends on our destiny and on how we interact with people, as well as on our living environment, internal and external. There is also karma. Everything has its role to play in our complex reality.
So what can we do when things get tough? We need to get back to basics.
Karma, technically speaking, is a balancing force. No, it is not about punishing, it is about restoring the balance between what you create and what you get. It is a reflection of the fundamental Law of Nature: we need to give in order to receive.
The Earth (坤Kun) cannot produce unless the Heaven (乾Qian) gives rain to it. Life starts with giving.
What can we give in exchange to what we need to receive?
Whatever we have plenty of!
- Time
- Money
- Energy
- Knowledge
- Attractive Appearance
- Creative Talent
- Skill
Anything in this world has value. Somebody may need what you have. Whenever you are in an uncertain situation, make a list of gifts which you can share, and you will see how much potential you have. With the gifts you have, you can achieve more than you think.
What happens if you do not know what you have? What happens if you think you have nothing? While this is never true, it is possible that you cannot see things objectively, especially in a stressful situation.
If this is the case, just do what the Nature does: it facilitates our survival by providing us with food and water.
This is what you can do:
- Feed the birds, fish or stray animals
- Cook for the elderly and children (they do not need to be members of your family) you can volunteer for a charity
- Help a neighbor
- Feed with the spoon somebody who cannot eat without help
- If you are asked for donation or food, do not refuse it. In somebody else’s eyes you are abundant, and this is your chance to prove it
- Give a gift or send flowers
- Make offering at the temple
If you support others, the Nature will support you, so that you continue being an integral part of its life-generating system.
You would be surprised how effective these luck enhancing actions are. In fact, you can resolve many problems by restoring the balance and being kind. As they say, generous people live longer, as the Nature wants them to stick around.
And they make better lovers too 🙂
